But critics say that PlayStation Vita still has better chances of performing well in the market compared to PlayStation 3 as long as the software lineup will do its job, sales wise.

Well Sony sure must come up with a kick ass software lineup considering the tough competition PlayStation Vita may face not only with similar game consoles but also with other gaming devices like the iPad, iPhone, Android smartphones and tablets.

A winner was then notified with the message, “Congratulations, you won… No really, we’re not kidding.” But when it was time to redeem the PS Vita prize, the winners received an email stating that their entries were invalid.

In a statement released to a news company on February 21, 2012, Taco Bell explained that after investigation, it was found out the problem was caused by people who tried to bypassed the system to join the contest. “We have learned that during a short period of time on January 30th, some people entering our Unlock the Box promotion erroneously received a message suggesting they had won a PlayStation® Vita, pending verification. After a thorough investigation, and an additional review by the independent company administering the promotion, it was confirmed that these entrants viewed these messages as a result of others who attempted to gain illegal entry and defraud the system.”

Taco Bell also added that the 300 claimants are not and cannot be guaranteed with a prize.

These “legitimate’ winners or claimants, those who followed the contest’s rules, are still clamoring for their rights and that they be given the prize they were promised, adding that it was unfair for them. While Taco Bell cannot guarantee these 300 winners with a PS Vita each, Taco Bell will still be giving them a second chance. According to a spokesperson, Taco Bell will conduct a second drawing on March 21where at least two PS Vita units will be given away.
